Northpointe Baptist Church began as Gungahlin Community Baptist Church in 2001. As the church grew, people gave their lives to God, a program to minister to children was developed and the church became a strong group of people who desired to love God and love others. Their hearts were set on spreading the good news of the gospel to the Gungahlin area in which they were placed.

Late 2003, the church moved to the Amaroo school, where it currently meets. This was a tremendous blessing as it provided extensive facilities that has blessed many events and endeavours.

The name of Northpointe was chosen as we are situated on the northern most point of Canberra and we desire, as a church, to point people to our great, awesome God.
